What is The PopFic Collective?

The PopFicCollective is a loosely organized group of authors who volunteer to create resources for the wider writing community.

This group is one way we share our enthusiasm for, and knowledge of, writing craft, theory, practice, publishing, marketing, and (as always in writing), worlds beyond.

What resources do you have?

Check out the “Resources” tab of the website to see the recorded resources we’ve collected so far, and check out the “Past Events” page to see the live events we’ve hosted. Many the resources we have are connected to past events.

What resources can members create?

Live webinars or hosted discussions with guest speakers who are authors, themselves, who want to share about a certain aspect of their author work or identities, who are expert in some aspect of writing craft or theory, or who are well-versed in a writing-related discipline that authors could benefit from using
Writing workshops
Written or recorded writing tools
Rhetorical pieces relevant to story-telling and/or related questions of narrative, identity, etc.
Resource directories
Analyses of critique and editing methods with an eye toward discussion on how to decolonize how writing and writing craft are taught, discussed, marketed, and sold

Do I have to be a member to attend the events or use the resources?

You don’t have to be a member to use the resources on our site. Most of our events and webinars are also open to the public, though we do reserve the right to refuse admission, and we do require all attendees behave in a respectful manner according to our posted Code of Conduct.

How do I join The PopFic Collective?

If you’re interested in joining The PopFic Collective, reach out to popficcollective@gmail.com. Let us know who you are, what kind of writing or writing-related experience you have, and how you might want to be involved. We do expect that volunteer members will, at some point, lead their own project to create and share writing resources through The PopFic Collective.
